Lula Côrtes e Zé Ramalho - Nas Paredes Da Pedra Encantada

Lula Côrtes and Zé Ramalho, forever to be praised and esteemed. I hold you in the highest regard however many times the pause button is accidentalplanally pressed in my bag. At least I could play you very loud!!
The sparrows of young war-- Sneaky parking schemes. I can't believe I made it to Barnes & Noble without speeding home in a rage. Now I sit in the bookstore café with inhuman attentions-- Lula serenades me. Paintings of literary figures sitting in a café adorn the wall- I am supposed to imagine myself as them? I can't!
What's in the book?---
"The morality of little people as the measure of things: that is the most disgusting degeneration culture has so far exhibited."
OK
"Our age is essentially one of understanding and reflection, without passion, momentarily bursting into enthusiasm, and shrewdly relapsing into repose."
The reflecztions amung yung Werners- I have risked half an hour of contraband parking to be here for you.

Please look at my friend Jacob's new blog, Exploding Bubble Lake.
Up now is a analysis/review of the album Fohhoh Bohob, by Long Island psych troupe The Patron Saints.

Jacob debunks any suspicions of Xtian undertones and points out that "it seems like most music with 'strange' flourishes from past eras are from suburbs of the metropolitan areas, as opposed to the country, or the metropolitan areas themselves." Hmmmm! I would rate this album as undeserving of its obscurity, which means that it is pretty good and recommended. Here is one track:
Patron Saints - Nostalgic Trip
Excellent percussion (pitiful, reverbed tambourine taps) and possibly-post-historically-disillusioned lyrics (possibly stoned-in-history-class):
"Take me back 1,000 years
spread my soul through time
let me view the present and the past
and love it cause it's mine"

Lately I have been very content in my dreams, and are sad to see them go when I awake:
In woods with someone.. duck behind curtained cave-- gigantic grizzly bear comes running out, but doesnt see us. Inside are all sorts of 'safe' animals. We rest.
...
Playing the harp for a musical, playing in back of large auditorium, play a piece with some girl. I am playing fast and out of tune, and she is bending the strings into tune for me, then we are bending strings around each others fingers and singing softly. The musical is touring for 2 months to brazil, and pays fifty Brazilian Raevs (dream currency) a day.

More wondrous gems:

Elektron Kukéso, by Hans Edler! When Jacob and I found this and listened, we were doubled over in ecstatic wonder. Hans Edler was the teen-idol frontman to Swedish beat group, The Ghost Riders. In 1969 he saw an advertisement for classes at a state-of-the-art electroacoustic studio in Stockholm. He immediately enrolled and produced this album between 1969 and 1971. The LP was a commercial flop, but brings me to overflowing pleasure today. The electronics are very primitive and psychedelic, and Edler's baritone vocals are downright monastic (the blurb on the back of the CD-reissue says "sounds like Stockhausen on acid, going bonkers on Carnaby Street"). Also included in the reissue are 7 bonus tracks of straight up noise! Here is the first track:
Hans Edler - Jag söker efter kärlek

Things that have happened to me recently:
-The using of bathroom in Starbucks, on door was a sign that read "Restroom for customers only, please asked to be buzzed in, around the corner," but before I could finish reading the sign I heard a loud buzzing, and entered.
-The stepping into the green garden of the St. Mark's Church on Locust St., the sitting down on their wooden bench, and the connecting to their wireless network.
-The hearing of the very rare and mind-blowing LP "Songs West Of The Pelvic Girdle" by Milovan Srdenovic.
-The buttering of bread.
-The asking for change by a homeless man, who pleaded, "Homey, don't turn me down like a Lowenbrau!"
-The violent shaking of head from side-to-side as an audience member for the Coughs.
-The midnight swimming with 40-odd other kids in the majestic fountain at Logan Circle; we would go on to stop the fountain's tremendous spurting with a large piece of canvas.
-The recommendation: find a space against a wall to stand, facing out, and recognize it as a truly singular experience.
